Embroidery Machine Care FAQ

Machine Care FAQ

Q. What is the life of an embroidery machine?

A. Generally about 7 years, but not because the machine is worn out. Often owners look to upgrade their machines for new features. There are many, many machines still running that are a great deal older than 7 years! With care a machine can last a very long time.

Q. What kind of care does a machine need?

A. Oil and cleaning! Follow the manufacturer recommendations for cleaning, oiling and greasing your machine. Set up a regular schedule and stick to it. It is surprising how many forget to oil a machine that costs more than their vehicle! An air compressor with a filter to remove moisture (or even canned air), a good lint brush, the recommended oil and grease for your machine are the necessary tools to trouble free machine operation and a long life. Preventive maintenance is the key. Machines work on tight tolerances, without the proper lubrication and cleaning your machine can experience excessive wear and may even freeze up. Just like a car engine!
