| Common Causes | Remedies |
| Framing (Hooping) | Correct fabric tension, proper loading on the machine. Check for mechanical looseness of frames. |
| Backing | Correct type, weight and number of pieces used. Proper framing of backing. |
| Pull compensation in the design. | Edit or repunch the design. |
| Machine speed. | Adjust machine speed, normally lower it. |
Distortion – Example: Fabric puckers around the design after unhooping.
| Common Causes | Remedies |
| Excessive pulling of the fabric after framing goods. | Frame smoothly, avoid pulling of fabric after it is hooped. Watch grain of fabric for straightness. |
| Backing. | Correct type, weight and number of pieces used. Proper framing of backing. |
